Linux System Management: Manage Network Configuration
In this lab, you'll practise configuring basic network settings on RHEL and Ubuntu, as well as basic network troubleshooting. When you're finished, you'll have two Linux systems configured with basic network settings allowing them to communicate.
Challenge
Get Started in the Lab Environment
Here are the initial instructions and explanation of the lab environment. Read this while your environment is busy creating itself from nothing. Yes, this violates physics; we know. How fun!
Challenge
Configure Basic Networking on Ubuntu
To start things off, you will learn how to configure an Ubuntu server to be equipped with its required network configuration settings, such as IP addressing and a default gateway, which are vital for network communications.
Challenge
Configure Basic Networking on RHEL
Much like the previous challenge, you will learn how to configure the required networking settings, but this time you’ll be doing it on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Challenge
Basic Network Troubleshooting
To finish this lab, you will learn how to perform basic troubleshooting techniques within both Linux variants to help you find and diagnose problems.
